Ohk,i knw it's not September 1st,but i have again broke one of my many promises to start blogging again.

my reason for stating i wud've blog this coming tues,was due to JIS starting then,but cuz of my sudden change in preference to switch to ISB (International School Brunei),which meant i began school,yesterday.

yes..i have switched schools,before i even began..

sooo...my reason for switching schools all of a suddden,is due to my parents mentioning bout a programme called

IB (International Baccalaureate) Diploma Programme or in short IB. i have only heard of it recently frm my parents,but after being interested in it,i did some internet surfing while taking advantge of the internet time and was pretty intrigued my the programme.

although it is a very rigorous programme as they described it, i feel it's time to break out of my comfort zone and do something different and challenging,rather than always taking the short-cut and ending up lying to myself and not push myself to the limit,and bottom line,disappointing myself,worst comes to worst my family(specifically my parents).

as the fees dont come cheap, B$24,000, for an 18 mnth intake,excluding exams to be sat,which takes the course 2 years,all in all la. get it??

macam A levels sedikit,but this one u take 6 subs.

for me i took:
English(HL)
Business(HL)
Economics(HL)
Mathematics(SL)
Design & Technology(SL)
Spanish-2nd Language(SL)
*HL=Higher Level SL=Standard Level
yes,maths is compulsory..but no worries..

together with those subjects, i get gain 3 extra credits/points by taking part in:
CAS(Creative,Activity/Active,Service)*somewhere along those lines..apologies..still new here.
this is where u have to active (DUH!!) in activities,events,stuff like charity and field trips..just be active la.

TOK(Teaching Of Knowledge). now this im not too sure bout it,but it's abit like Citizenship,where u learn on views based on religion,politics,stepping into someone shoes and how they wud view things in life..stuff like tht..

EE(Extended Essay) this is where i have to write an essay,approx. 4000 words,on something tht i find interesting and intriguing. resulting in me taking the initiative to do research and write my topic.( it must be a topic i have dcided to stdy from the 6 subs,so mayb i write bout Spanish,or BS..dunno la..)

the maximum points i can score for one subject is 7,being the highest and 1 being the lowest. so overall,7 times 6 is 42,plus 3 if i ace the CAS,TOK,EE.

scholarship range:35 and higher.

but im tryin to go for 40 and above,as i have heard tht for those u have gone to the US,have all gone with scholarships..

what a way to motivate you huh??

so far first day of school was all in all HECTIC!


7:00-reached school to get settled in,was assigned a buddy which was nice,but it wasnt like i stuck round them or anytin. so frm there my buddy slowly introduced me to her frens,and from there frens to frens,on and on and on.

7-ish-went to a room,where i realised was where i was assigned to a tutor group,something like a form teacher,but in lodge,there were 30++ students under 1 teacher,here it's like 9-10 students per teacher,thus forming a tutor group.

my tutor group teacher goes my the name of Ms. Hancox. again..im not familiar with the names of the faculty yet.
she went thru,the lost and found items,and talked about some football event. she asked whether i played football and i shyly nodded in agreement. if im not wrong,the football discussion had something to do with Phuket now,im taking this with a grain of salt,but Phuket,Thailand..really???

moving on,my first class was SPANISH,and my on my,it was like goin to a totally diff coutry. the teacher spoke spanish,mostly thru out the class,which i tink is good pratice..but am told to revise thru the aplhabets and practice pronouciations and spelling...LOL.

got youtube to help me with tht..

then business,then econs..then school break off.

here the times are much shorter than Lodge and JIS.

Mon-Thurs,finish round 2:30/2:40.
Friday,finish 11:45

but start at 7:15...(yawns)

yea,so far so good,the books are on loan,which means no need to buy books,and lecture pads are given instead of exercise books,plus no uniforms and boleh bring handphones and all tht.

pretty cool right?

no wonder,Marc and James,along with some A-Level students visited the school last year..
